Enroll

To become a BeHealthy Partnership member, you need to first find out if you qualify for MassHealth. You can apply any time of the year and if you are eligible, your health care coverage can begin right away. Even if you didn’t qualify for Medicaid before, you may qualify under new rules. For help applying for or renewing coverage for MassHealth, you can call or visit a financial counselor or enrollment specialist near you. Click here for details.

Follow these easy steps:

1. Apply
If you are 64 years of age or younger, you can find out in real time if you are eligible for coverage by applying online on the Massachusetts Health Connector website.

This is the fastest and easiest way to apply for and enroll in coverage. The website is available for individuals and those applying for their family. Simply visit the Connector website and click the “Get Started” link on the homepage.

2. Enroll

You can enroll in a health plan as soon as you’ve been approved for MassHealth coverage. If you do not pick a plan, MassHealth will pick a plan for you so it’s important to follow these steps to choose the BeHealthy Partnership plan.

Follow these instructions to enroll, and be sure to choose BeHealthy Partnership for each eligible member of your family. Remember to also select a primary care provider (PCP) who will help you coordinate your health care.

You can also call MassHealth for help in picking a health plan. They are available Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Interpreter service is available. Call toll-free at (800) 841-2900 or TTY/TDD: 711

Please Note:

After June 1, 2018, MassHealth will have a Fixed Enrollment Period. During the MassHealth Fixed Enrollment Period, you will not be able to change your MCO or accountable care partnership plan unless you meet one of the special reasons listed on the MassHealth Fixed Enrollment Period webpage.

This means you will have to stay in your managed care organization (MCO) health plan or accountable care partnership plan until your next Plan Selection Period, which is the annual 90-day period for individuals enrolled in a MassHealth. During this time, you can choose an accountable care partnership plan or MCO for any reason. Learn more about the MassHealth Plan Selection Period and how to enroll.

3. Renew

To keep your MassHealth coverage, you may need to renew each year. You will receive a letter from MassHealth when it’s time to renew. You must submit a new application by the deadline on your letter to avoid a gap in coverage. To get started with your renewal, follow the instructions on the MassHealth Member Information webpage.
